Themba Mbatha is Assistant Professor in the Departments of African and African American Studies and English at Washington University in St. Louis, where he teaches the literary, cultural, and intellectual traditions of postcolonial Africa and the African diaspora. A cultural and literary critic located at the nexus of postcolonial criticism, black studies, and memory studies, Themba is currently at work on a book that investigates the aesthetic and discursive afterlives of South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
